Built in 1997 at Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding in Somerset, Massachusetts, Lady Martha was originally Grey Lady II, the second generation of high-speed catamarans built by Hy-Line. Lady Martha operates between Hyannis and Martha’s Vineyard, and is also our high-speed connection inter-island, between Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Martha’s Vineyard 

The first people on Martha’s Vineyard were Indians of the Wampanoag tribe. The modern history of Martha’s Vineyard begins with the arrival of a single English ship in 1602, commanded by Bartholomew Gosnold. It is believed that he named the island after his infant daughter and the numerous wild vines he found on the island.
