        • Deckhand – Seasonal; Requires Evening and Weekend Availability

        • Primary duty of a deckhand on board any vessel is to ensure the safety of passengers and crew and support an exceptional passenger experience.  The deckhand’s responsibilities include the following; constant monitoring of decks to ensure comfort and safety of passengers, maintaining cleanliness of the vessel, assisting with loading and off-loading of passengers, bikes and luggage, handling docking lines, standing wheel watch (steering), standing bridge/bow watch, performing engine checks, and participating in ongoing safety and security drills.  The successful candidate must have a committed work ethic, a positive demeanor, a willingness to learn new tasks, take directions from superiors, and great customer service skills. Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.  Pre-employment and random drug screening required.
                • Ticket Agent

                • Ticket Agents handle all reservations for the ferries, fishing boats, harbor and canal cruise vessels depending on where they are located.  Agents answer questions in person and on the phone, provide information, process new and change reservations, and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.  Manages reservations and issues tickets using specialized software.  Must learn and retain information about pricing and coding.  Provides accurate information regarding all Hy-Line’s services and policies.  Accurately reconciles ticket sales and receipts.  Responds appropriately to comments or complaints and resolves as best as possible to the satisfaction of the customer.  Manages passenger issues relating to reservations.  Stays focused while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment where distractions are a natural part of the work area.  At a minimum, must be enrolled in school or have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old.
                • Parking Attendant/Reservation Agent

                • Direct customers to parking lots and assist with maintenance of the parking area.  This position may also use the parking reservation system.  Attendants will be standing a few hours at a time at on and off-site parking.  For reservations, work with customers on phone or in-person making, changing, or confirming parking reservations.  Reservations are managed via computerized software specific for recording the reservation and issuing tickets.  Accurate collection and reconciliation of money and receipts.  Respond appropriately to comments or complaints and resolve as best as possible to the satisfaction of the customer.  Frequent security checks of lots and surrounding areas.  Excellent phone, customer service, and strong computer skills required.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old.

                Dock Staff

              • Dock Staff are responsible for maintaining dock and all adjacent areas, keeping the area free of debris and emptying trash containers.  The Dock Staff handle mooring lines, set up signage and boarding lines, maintain control of the luggage cart area, loading and off-loading luggage and bicycles.  Assist passengers and other staff as necessary.  Respond courteously and accurately to questions posed by the public. Seek assistance from other staff, if needed, to find the correct answer for the person.  Ensure all boarding lines and signs are arranged properly and in a timely manner.  Load and off-load luggage, bikes, and any other items on vessels, as required, on turnarounds (in conjunction with boat crew).  Make sure bicycles are ticketed and in appropriate areas to load on vessels.  Constant attention to sweeping, squeegeeing, and general maintenance of docks, plaza, parking lots, grounds and lower level of terminal area.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old.
                  • FOOD SERVICE POSITIONS:

                    • Prep Cook

                    • We are seeking a prep cook to work with and support the Chef and kitchen staff in preparation of food items to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. The prep cook takes directions from the Chef.  Prepare ingredients following recipes and guidelines and/or Line Cook or Chef directions.  Ensure ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored and rotated effectively.  Keep utensils and equipment clean and sanitary.  Must be able to read, understand, and follow through with instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.  Good math skills required.  This position requires a minimum age of 16 years old, or 18 if using a knife or slicer.  Prior experience as a prep cook or similar preferred.
                    • Kitchen Staff

                    • We are seeking kitchen staff to clean, stock, and maintain the kitchen area as well as help with the preparation of meals.  Responsibilities include retrieving ingredients from the refrigerator, freezer, and stockroom, measuring ingredients as per the Chef or Line Cook instructions, and ensure that all work areas are properly sanitized.  Pack take-out orders as needed.  Take care of garbage removal and mop and sweep the kitchen areas as required.  Kitchen staff must be able to read, understand, and follow through with simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.  Basic math skills required.  Prior experience in kitchen settings preferable but will train.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old.
                    • Kitchen Stock Staff

                    • We are seeking energetic stockers who want to work in a fast paced (and fun) environment.  The stocker will maintain necessary stock for food preparation for several venues.  Perform general stocking duties including storing and stocking products in/on kitchens, passenger vessels/ferries, warehouses, bins, shelves, racks, refrigerators and freezers.  Fill orders and ensure the ferries have stock needed for the next trip out of Hyannis.  Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards (including backroom and shelves) and dispose of trash.  Work collaboratively with food services team.  Previous experience in receiving, handling, and stocking in retail or warehouse/distribution environments preferred but will train.  Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.

                          • Dock Staff

                            • Dock Staff are responsible for maintaining dock and adjacent areas.  Dock staff handle boat lines, help set up signage and boarding lines, maintain control of the luggage cart area, loading and off-loading luggage and bicycles.  Assist with ferry arrivals and departures, including the organization of passengers.  Maintain cleanliness of dock area.  Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old.
