        • Deckhand – Seasonal; Requires Evening and Weekend Availability

        • Primary duty of a deckhand on board any vessel is to ensure the safety of passengers and crew and support an exceptional passenger experience.  The deckhand’s responsibilities include the following; constant monitoring of decks to ensure comfort and safety of passengers, maintaining cleanliness of the vessel, assisting with loading and off-loading of passengers, bikes and luggage, handling docking lines, standing wheel watch (steering), standing bridge/bow watch, performing engine checks, and participating in ongoing safety and security drills.  The successful candidate must have a committed work ethic, a positive demeanor, a willingness to learn new tasks, take directions from superiors, and great customer service skills. Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.  Pre-employment and random drug screening required.
              • FOOD SERVICE POSITIONS:
                      • Line Cook/Sous Chef
                      • This is an exciting opportunity to work in a beautiful harbor front restaurant with a great team of kitchen staff and servers.  The position is full time through October.
                      • We are seeking an experienced Line Cook/Sous Chef to work with and support the Chef in preparation of food items to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.  This position takes directions from the Chef.  Responsibilities include preparing food, following recipes and guidelines.  Ensure ingredients are tagged, date-labeled, covered, stored, and rotated effectively.  Must be able to read, understand, and follow through with instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.  For this position you must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
                      • NANTUCKET – All applicants must have on-island housing

                            • Ticket Agent – Part Time Positions; Weekend and Evening Availability Required

                              • With a focus on exceptional customer service, the Ticket Agent’s responsibilities primarily include; making, changing, or confirming reservations via phone and in-person.  Reservations are made using computerized software specific for recording the reservation and issuing tickets.  Ticket Agents must provide accurate information regarding Hy-Line’s services and policies, reconcile ticket sales and receipts, respond appropriately to comments or complaints, and resolve passenger issues, as best as possible, to the satisfaction of the customer.
                              • Excellent phone manner, customer service experience and strong computer skills required.  Must be a minimum age of 16 years old and obtain work permit if hired prior to age 18.
                                      • Dock Staff

                                        • Dock Staff are responsible for maintaining dock and adjacent areas.  Dock staff handle boat lines, help set up signage and boarding lines, maintain control of the luggage cart area, loading and off-loading luggage and bicycles.  Assist with ferry arrivals and departures, including the organization of passengers.  Maintain cleanliness of dock area.  Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must be a minimum age of 16 years old and obtain work permit if hired prior to age 18.

                                  Ship to Shore Office 

                                  • Ship to Shore Staff are responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing freight transactions via specialized software, resolve customer issues related to freight matters, and may assist other Hy-Line staff.  Must be able to lift 40 pounds.  Requires an energetic individual who is good at multi-tasking and demonstrates exceptional customer service and computer skills.  Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
                                    • MARTHA’S VINEYARD – All applicants must have on-island housing

                                          • Dock Staff – Full and Part Time Positions Available

                                                • Dock Staff maintain dock and adjacent areas, keeping the area free of debris and ensuring passengers safely line up in the appropriate area.  Dock Staff handle boat lines, set up signage and boarding lines, maintain control of the luggage cart area, loading and off-loading luggage and bicycles.  Maintain crowd control and organization of the area.  Secure the aft gangway (chain fall) as vessels arrive and depart.  Scan tickets for boarding passengers. Must be a minimum age of 16 years old and obtain work permit if hired prior to age 18.
