Position Description – Buildings Maintenance
Reports to: Manager, Property Management
Location: Property Management
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Human Resources: Cheryl Barrows

Summary:
As a member of the Property Management Team, this position assists in the maintenance of both buildings and grounds owned and operated by Hy-Line Cruises.  Team members report directly to the Property Manager, or his designee. However, the daily task schedule and assignments will be made and distributed by the Assistant Property Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with buildings and grounds maintenance, refuse collection and removal, repair and maintenance of all aspects of the facilities and grounds as follows:

Building Maintenance – Assist with building maintenance tasks across a wide variety of building systems including minor electrical repairs, replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs, HVAC system maintenance, and minor carpentry projects.

Grounds Maintenance – Assist with lawn maintenance, hedge trimming, debris removal, weeding, pruning of shrubs and trees, maintenance of parking areas, and other projects as needed.

Custodial – Ensure buildings, office’s, hallways, and public areas are well kept, clean, and safe. Empty trash barrels, stock supplies, and general cleaning of washrooms and their fixtures, meeting rooms, offices, hallways, carpet and flooring, furniture, walls, walkways. Assist with refuse collection and disposal.

As needed or assigned.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications:
Must posses a valid Massachusetts drivers license. Clean driver’s license, as determined by insurance or other regulatory agency. Employee must consent to a background review of license which will be conducted post offer, pre-employment.

Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Landscaping/building maintenance experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old to operate machinery or drive any company vehicles. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation, and must be comfortable working from ladders and with heights up to 10 feet.

Typical Work Environment:
Work is performed outdoors with varied weather conditions, and indoors or warehouse environment as the work dictates. There can be significant noise related to machinery and daily work environment. This position works in a building and grounds, construction, maintenance, and marine environment.
