Security Overview-
Security positions are seasonal with day, evening, and nighttime hours. Ability to work weekends and holidays is required. The schedule for most positions coincides with our operating season dates, others are dictated by staffing schedules which may include up to 6 months of part-time hours.
Our security responsibilities are varied and require a high degree of accountability. Successful candidates may be working alone or with a partner. Security staff are expected to exercise good, sound judgement, make correct decisions according to protocol or practice, and perform within the guidelines of the security manual. Due to the varying nature of our business, Hy-Line reserves the right to change employees shifts, assignments, and/or hours for the benefit of security operations.
Dress Code / Uniforms-
Uniforms will be furnished by Hy-Line Cruises. Security staff are required to adhere to Security Department uniform procedures. Employees will maintain their uniforms, cleaned and pressed, so at all times during working hours their appearance is clean, neat, and professional.
Uniforms will be returned in clean, professional condition, when requested after an employee resignation or termination of employment. Hy-Line Cruises reserves the right to seek and recover uniforms, equipment, and associated expenses if property is not returned when requested.
Conditions of Employment-
Any offer of employment is conditional upon you providing the following documents. These documents are required to meet U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requirements to prove identity and to meet Homeland Security, TSA and United States Coast Guard standards. You must provide:
• Valid MA driver’s license
• Social Security Card
• DD-214 if discharged from the military within the past 12 months
• MA license to carry firearms if you have one (not required for the position)
• I understand that a complete background investigation is required for this position. I further understand that a second background investigation will be conducted by the FBI, TSA, and Homeland Security. This position requires that I obtain a TSA transportation Worker ID card and that failure to pass any investigation or inability to get the required ID card will result in forfeiture of my employment. I consent to the above investigations.
