Position Description: Prep and Line Cook
Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage/Chef
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Salary: starting at $18.00 per hour
Shift type: Seasonal, Morning: 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Summary:
The Prep and Line Cook ensures quality and stability of products by complying with production guidelines, following standardized recipes, and overseeing product quality through adequate storage and product rotation. With a positive demeanor and enthusiasm the Prep and Line Cook will work effectively with the Chef and the kitchen team in the preparation of food items to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications:
None.
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Prior experience as a prep and/or line cook strongly preferred.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to safely use kitchen equipment and appliances.
Ability to follow recipes.
Solid knowledge of food safety standards and procedures and food preparation fundamentals.
Sound understanding of food allergies and foodborne illnesses.
Proficient knife-handling skills.
Strong communication skills, math, and reading skills in English.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without, reasonable accommodation.

Harbor, marine environment, shore based cafe kitchen, prep kitchen
