Holiday Happenings around the Cape & Islands!

Can you believe it’s already the middle of November? The time is flying, and before you know it we’ll all be eating turkey, celebrating the holidays with friends and family, and looking to add a lot of much-needed holly jolly to our lives. Around here, we’re definitely looking forward to it!

If you thought summer on Nantucket was special, just wait until you see the magic of the holiday season. There are so many amazing things to do on the Cape & Islands for the holidays, and we wanted to share just a few with you!

Cape Cod Turkey Trots

For those of you looking to burn some calories before sitting down to your Thanksgiving meal, check out the Turkey Trots happening on Thanksgiving this year around the Cape. We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines, and admiring your physical prowess!

Nantucket Christmas Stroll WeekendHoliday Strolls through Town

We would be remiss to not mention Nantucket Christmas Stroll Weekend, even though you all probably know and love the event! The 47th year of this event will take place Dec. 3-5 and you’ll find holiday joy & fun events in every nook and cranny of the island. We are so happy that the event is back to an in-person celebration after they went with virtual events last year because of COVID-19. More information about the schedule of events should be available soon on the chamber website, but regardless this event is always a great festive way to spend time with family and friends!

Many of the towns on Cape Cod put on their own version of a Main Street Holiday Stroll event. Some of our favorites are Provincetown’s Holly Folly weekend, Hyannis Village Christmas Stroll and Boat Parade, and Chatham’s Christmas Stroll event.

Visit Santa on Cape Cod

Visit Santa on the Cape

If you have tiny humans, you may enjoy taking them to see Santa at one of the dozens of events catered to making sure they get their chance to talk to the big guy in the red suit. Visit him at the Cape Cod Mall, the Cape Codder Hotel, Lukes Love Boundless Playground, Heritage Museums and Gardens, and many other spots. He sure does get around this time of year!

Marvel at the Holiday Lights

Speaking of Heritage Museums and Gardens, one of the prettiest sights on the Cape is Gardens Aglow! This event takes place from Thanksgiving weekend through the end of December, and is a must-see. With thousands of lights set up throughout the property, Santa, hot chocolate stations, gifts for sale, and much more this event is great for all ages and just so incredibly magical!

There is SO much to see and do this time of year, you’d have to be a real Grinch to not get in the holiday spirit!
