Position Description: Captain
Reports to: Vessel Operations Manager
Supervisory Responsibility: all crew on assigned vessel
Vessels: Fast Ferries, Fishing Vessel and Tour Boat
Salary: starting at $30.00 per hour
Shift type: Full time or Part time, shifts vary

Summary:
The Captain is ultimately responsible for all aspects of safe vessel operations. This includes, but is not limited to, navigation, boat handling, managing, and training mates and crewmembers. Captains communicate with the operations and maintenance departments, and ticket offices, to resolve any unusual issues that arise during daily operations.

Must be able to walk up and down up to 3 flights of stairs, climb up and down ladders up to 10 feet, and lift 40 pounds.
Must be able to safely perform the essential duties for the position, with or without, reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to pass post offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
Licenses, Registrations, and/or Certifications:
Minimum US Coast Guard 100 ton Captain’s License.
Required Education and Experience:
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent.
Requires twin screw or jet propulsion boat handling experience.
Must be able to complete (prior to start date) the on-line marine training program, specific to this role, which consists of educational materials in English – written, diagram, and video format with corresponding assessments.
