People say, “What’s going on at the terminal, with all that construction? What are you doing?”
Then they say, “Oh. That’s such a great idea!”
This fall, we embarked on terminal renovations to accommodate the changes and off-season growth that’s been going on for the last 10 years. It began with revamping Hy-Line Landing. The Food & Beverage Department desperately needed more space. Our Food & Beverage Manager, Kathy, was tasked with creating a restaurant space, including food options and interior design. The space will be divided into two: The Landing Cafe will be a full-service restaurant; and The Landing Express will be grab-and-go, hurry-up-and-get-on-the-boat-before-it-leaves-without-you food and beverage options. We can’t wait to show you all of the newness this spring!
The Landing Cafe will offer full breakfast until noon (!), lunch and dinner with full beverage service. This will be perfect for those who want to chill and relax before their ferry to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard. We have a new chef onboard, who is testing the Cafe menu Kathy created (I volunteer as tasting tribute!) prior to opening to the public. Kathy is incredibly proud of the direction of this eco-friendly cafe, serving you with compostable single-use palm leaf and corn tableware!
As we continue with the Hy-Line Landing renovations, we’re also reconstructing the ticketing area to include will-call windows, a larger indoor waiting area, and an overall better flow of foot passenger traffic. We are moving full steam ahead with all of these changes, and thank you for your patience during this period of transition!
